Linfield Ladies ‘warmed up’ for Friday night's League Cup final against Cliftonville by beating Glentoran 3-0 in the Women's Premiership.

Water breaks were introduced to help players cope with the searing heat at New Midgley Park.

Rebecca McKenna, Alison Smyth and Louise McDaniel got the goals.

However, Blues skipper Sarah Venney says it wasn't as straightforward for the league leaders as the scoreline suggests...

Also on Wednesday evening, Crusaders Strikers stayed a point behind Linfield with a 5-1 home win over bottom club Portadown.

Derry City Ladies picked up their first Premiership point of the season, drawing 1-1 with Sion Swifts at the Brandywell.

Rachel Barnaby put the home side in front just before the interval, but former Newry City player Aimee Mackin struck mid-way through the second half to rescue a draw for Sion.
