Sean Cavanagh was Tyrone’s star as he put on a sterling display to rescue the Red Hands.

They managed to beat the 13-man Monaghan by 14 points to ten at Healy Park.

Monaghan manager Malachy O'Rourke said a ‘wasteful’ first half cost his side as they ran out four-point losers.

Fintan Kelly and Dermot Malone were sent off early in the second half.
