McAree goes fourth with 'home' win - Glens and Newry managers draw the positives

Coleraine have moved up to fourth place in the Danske Bank Premiership after beating Dungannon Swifts 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Goals from James McLaughlin and Stephen Lowry gave Bannsiders boss Rodney McAree victory as he returned to his former club and hometown team.

The other Tuesday match saw Newry City and Glentoran draw 1-1 at the Showgrounds.

Stephen Hughes claimed the opener for the home side with Robbie McDaid grabbing the Glens' equaliser.

Both managers were taking positives from the game - 

Glens boss Gary Smyth coming up, after Newry's Darren Mullen...



The result moves Glentoran into eighth place, ahead of Warrenpoint Town on goal difference.

The teams meet at the Q Radio Arena on Saturday. 

Newry are now three points ahead of bottom club Ards.

Next up for Mullen's men is a trip to Solitude - Paddy McLaughlin's first game in charge of the Reds.
