Irish League set for return to the Brandywell on opening day of the new season

Irish League football is set to return to Derry/Londonderry on the opening day of the new Danske Bank Premiership season.

It's been confirmed Institute will play the other newly-promoted team Newry City at the Brandywell on Saturday August 4th - the first Irish League fixture there since the Derry City days almost half a century ago back in 1971. 

Crusaders will kick-off their defence of the title with a home game against Ards; while the runners-up last season, Coleraine, welcome Warrenpoint.

Glentoran face Cliftonville at the Oval, Linfield go to Glenavon, and Dungannon Swifts host Ballymena United.

Saturday 4 August 2018 (kick-off 3pm)
Coleraine v Warrenpoint Town
Crusaders v Ards
Dungannon Swifts v Ballymena United
Glenavon v Linfield
Glentoran v Cliftonville
Institute v Newry City
