Glentoran clinched runners-up spot in the Danske Bank Women's Premiership on Wednesday night with a 3-2 victory over closest rivals Ciftonville at the Dub.

Nadene Caldwell, Kelly Bailie and Joely Andrews scored for the Glens with Niamh Connolly and Chloe Orr replying as the Reds twice fought back to draw level - only for teenage star Andrews to seal victory for the east Belfast side.

Meanwhile, Kevin McLaughlin's Derry City won a feisty basement battle, beating bottom club Portadown 4-1 at the Brandywell.

There are just two games remaining in the league itself, the outstanding fixtures for champions Linfield Ladies, away to Sion Swifts and at home to Crusaders.

Portadown face East Belfast in a promotion-relegation play-off with the first leg at Inverary on Sunday afternoon and part two on Wednesday night at Annagh United.
