Journalists in Belfast's Writer's Square and Derry/Londonderry's Guildhall Square have gathered in protest against paramilitary threats.
As part of their campaign, the NUJ has been meeting with the staff at the Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Life, Sunday World and Irish News.
It is after reporters from the newspapers were intimidated in a series of threats by paramilitary groups and other sources.
A minute's silence was also held in memory of murdered journalists, Martin O'Hagan and Lyra McKee.
The National Union of Journalists is calling for Criminal Justice system to do the best they can to help victims of violence or threats.
“The nature of some of the threats against our members has been horrendous,” said a union spokesperson. “We have seen the same level of intimidation in some other countries.
“Everywhere it arises, we have to stand up against it.”
Robin Wilson from the union representing journalists told Q Radio about the importance of the demonstration.
