A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a teenage boy was stabbed in north Belfast.
The suspect is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
The stabbing happened in the Spamount Street area at around 9.45pm last night.
Police say the incident was reported to officers who were already dealing with reports of groups of youths fighting in the nearby North Queen Street area.
The teenager was taken to hospital following the incident, where he remains today receiving treatment.
His injuries have been described as serious but are not thought to be life threatening at this time.
The man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Monday 21st October.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.
