An 18 year-old man has been arrested following a burglary at a jewellers in Ballymena.
It happened in the Church Street area of the town shortly after 1pm this afternoon.
Inspector Reid said: “Shortly after 1:10pm, it was reported that two men entered a jewellers in the Church Street area. The males then made off from the scene with a quantity of jewellery from the shop. One male was detained shortly after the incident.
“An 18 year old man was arrested on suspicion of theft. He remains in police custody.
“The second man is described as being 6”0 in height and wearing a red and black jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes and a white surgical mask covering over his face. He is believed to have made off towards the Broadway Avenue area following the incident.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 859 20/06/20. A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport
