Some schools have been forced to close today due to poor weather conditions.

The Education Authority say the closures will take place in:

- Carnalbanagh Primary School, 1 Glenview Road, Ballymena.

- Millquarter Primary School, 139 Crosskeys Road, Toomebridge.

A weather warning's in place until around 11am after temperatures plunged in many areas overnight.

People are being urged to slow down, leave space between cars, and take extra care on the roads.

NI Direct says,

"You should always plan your journey and check the latest weather and travel advice."

"If the conditions are bad, ask yourself whether you really need to travel - or if you can delay your journey until conditions improve."

"If you must travel, plan your journey carefully."

Some areas are also experiencing heavy fog this morning.

The Met Office say Counties Antrim, Londonderry and Down are the worst affected after heavy snowfall yesterday.

However John Wylie from the MeT Office said:

"Things should very slowly begin to ease out as we go through the day."

"Not as many showers around...so further accumulating snow is not expected during the course of today."

"Over the next couple of days this temporary cold spell will begin to ease out just a little."
