PSNI respond to reports of youths throwing stones from train tracks in Portrush

Police have been warning young people in Portrush to 'Stay off the train-tracks.'  It comes after reports of youths throwing stones from the railway at Dhu Varren.

Several cars have been damaged as a result of the stone-throwing.  And the PSNI say that such behaviour is not only a criminal offence, but also highly dangerous.

Police have advised that a "train can’t swerve to avoid people, so anyone on the tracks is putting themselves and the lives of other rail users at severe risk without thinking of the consequences of their actions."
