Potential £400,000 of improvement work to be carried out on Portballintrae Harbour

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is planning to undertake infrastructure works at Portballintrae Harbour.

The work, which would represents a £400,000 investment by the council, is to begin in September of this year and last for 4-5 Weeks.  Work is to be carried out on both the old spillway and the pier structure.

Planning permission as well as a Marine Licence is required before the work can be started.  If passed conservation work will be done on the spillway, to restore the original look.  While any existing, defective concrete surfacing will be removed form the Listed site.

The pier structure meanwhile would receive new lighting, mooring rings and a replacement concrete deck.
