Man arrested over incident where Belfast City Centre shop set alight

A man has been arrested after someone walked into a shop in Belfast City Centre and set it on fire.

Police were called to reports a man poured out a flammable substance before setting it alight at a store on Donegall Street - last month.

Detectives are questioning a 36-year-old on suspicion of arson.

In a statement a spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Detectives from Musgrave have today arrested a 36 year old man in the Belfast on suspicion of arson with intent in relation to an incident at a shop in Donegall Street on Friday, 23 February.  He is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries."
