Funeral to be held for popular Lisburn GP who died at Kirkistown circuit

The funeral will take place later of a popular GP from Lisburn - who died in a crash during a race at a County Down motor sports track. 

Doctor Paul Conn was competing in a race at the Kirkiston circuit on Saturday when the fatal crash took place.

The 61-year-old father of three was a partner at Ballygomartin doctors surgery in Belfast.

Tributes have been paid to Paul following his untimely death including those from the 5 hundred Motor Racing Club of Ireland.

They said he will be sorely missed after being a member of the club for almost 23 years. 

A private committal is being held but a celebration of Paul's life will take place at Malone House in Belfast at 2 o'clock.
