Police have rescued four people from a deliberate fire at a block of flats in Dungannon.

A wheelie bin was pushed against the door of a property in Lisnahull park at around 3am this morning, and was set alight.

Officers arrived at the scene before the fire brigade and managed to extinguish the flames.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “At approximately 3.00am Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service reported a fire at the flats. Police arrived prior to the fire brigade and managed to extinguish the fire.
