Flytipping in the North Coast has been branded as "disgusting" and an "eyesore".
We're told the rural Ballynacally Road has been overrun with rubbish and unwanted house items.
The SDLP's spokesperson on the Environment, John Dallat said:
"At this time of the year most rural country roads are beginning to look really good as mother nature does her work and produces a mass of wild flowers but not so on the Ballynacally Road near Garvagh where wild orchids and crocuses are replaced by rusting washing machines and old vacuum cleaners.
(Washing machine found and Vacuum Cleaner found dumped on the Ballynacally road)
Mr Dallat continued:
"It really is time to think seriously about using new technology to catch those involved in this dreadful activity which is blighting not just the Ballynacally Road but many others and it doesn’t have to be old washing machines and vacuum cleaners.
"The countryside is filling up with all sorts of litter thrown from passing vehicles. Is it time for CCTV, drones and other modern recording devices to stamp out this activity?
"I would appeal to everyone to take their litter home and put it in their wheelie bins but I don’t know what to say to people who load up their own domestic appliances and thrown them along our road ways. They need to be caught."
