A church in county Derry/Londonderry has closed after local parishioners tested positive for coronavirus.

Father Neill Farren took to social media to announce that services have stopped at Saint Mary's Church in Ardmore.

It's understood a local married couple tested positive for the virus a couple of days after attending a service there.

The news comes days after 10 GAA clubs in the county suspended activities due to a rise in Covid-19 cases and after a cluster was identified in Limavady.

Father Farren said he will continue to serve mass remotely via a live stream in order to protect other members of the local community.
