Cookstown fire victim may've been overcome by fumes

Investigations are underway after a 28 year-old man perished in a house fire in Cookstown.

His body was discovered after a blaze broke out at flats in the Queen's Avenue area around half 2 this morning.

The fire service had been dealing with an outbreak in an adjoining flat when they made the grim discovery.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Alan Walmsley says they're not treating the blaze as suspicious.
