Books of condolence has been opened in Newry and Downpatrick as a mark of respect for the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.
The books will be open for two weeks at Newry Town Hall, the Down Civic Centre, and at the Newry and Downpatrick council offices.
Opening the books yesterday, Council chair Gillian Fitzpatrick paid tribute to the emergency services, and to the people of Manchester who rallied in the aftermath.
She said, "Children are among the 22 people who died following the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena. As a mother for four children, I am horrified by the horrendous events in Manchester last night. All our thoughts and prayers go out to the parents who have lost a beautiful, innocent, young child and to the parents waiting to hear of the safety of their loved ones."
She added, "Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected in this mindless attack."
