'Epilepsy Warrior' Billy Caldwell will be returning to Los Angeles today.
Only last month, they considered the prospect of going back to the states due to Billy's indefinite medical care plan in Northern Ireland.
The journey back to the states is now a reality.
Billy's mum Charlotte says the NHS has failed to follow through with any of Billy's care plan that was agreed on.
A few weeks ago, Billy became the first UK resident to be prescribed medicinal cannabis.
Fortunately his GP signed off on the prescription, as the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast didn't carry out the task, even though they signed off on it.
There are three parts in total to Billy's care plan that he was supposed to receive in Northern Ireland.
His prescription for medicinal cannabis, a brain scan and the option of Epilepsy surgery.
By travelling back to America he can receive the treatment he needs, by getting a brain scan and the option of surgery.
Charlotte is now appealing for the public's help, now more than ever.
