The age limit for using council fitness suites in the Antrim and Newtonabbey borough has been lowered from 16 to 14 years of age.
Teenagers from 14 and up, will now have access to gyms and have the ability to take part in some classes across Forum, Ballyearl, Crumlin, Sixmile, and Valley Leisure Centre, as long as they're accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Paul Hamill said: “I am delighted that Council has lowered the age limit of our fitness suites across the Borough.
"Exercise plays a vital role in keeping us fit and healthy and it is important that teenagers lead an active lifestyle early in life, to reduce the chances of obesity at a later age.”
Teenagers will now be able to use the fitness suite as part of the MORE membership which costs just £39 per month per family (Ts and Cs apply). For more information on our membership options, visit antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/more
