Northern Ireland food producer Linwoods is to close its Armagh bakery with the loss of 70 jobs.
Linwoods has been operating for 60 years and started life as a grocery store.
In 2002 it diversified into health foods and now exports its products across the UK and Europe.
It now has a 140-strong workforce across two sites in County Armagh.
The company said the plan to close its bakery was "in response to a significant and long-term decline in market demand".
As a result of the decision, about 70 jobs will be cut at Linwoods' Monaghan Road headquarters in Armagh.
John Woods, joint managing director at Linwoods, said: "This is a sad day for the company as we let go of one of the cornerstones of our business which has been integral to building the Linwoods’ brand.
"Our bakery team has worked incredibly hard and we have explored all possible options to avoid these job losses. This decision has not been taken lightly. It follows several efforts to find alternative solutions."
The bakery is to continue operating until mid-October.
Linwoods Health Foods is not affected.
