13 more covid-19 deaths in Northern Ireland and 28 in Republic

A further 13 people have died with coronavirus in Northern Ireland, bringing the total to 263. 

The latest figures released by the Department of Health show there are 37 patients being treated in intensive care units for confirmed or suspected cases of covid-19. 

Meanwhile, around 689 patients are currently being treated for the virus, with 2,765 people having already been discharged from hospital.

There have also been 58 outbreaks in care homes in Northern Ireland. 

During the executive's daily covid-19 press conference Finance Minister Conor Murphy said, "I would like to offer my sympathies to the families."

28 more people have died in the Republic of Ireland since yesterday as a result of covid-19. 

It brings the death toll there to 794.
