Linfield derby awaits new Glens Boss Haveron

He takes over from Roy Coyle, who was caretaker manager following the resignation of Alan Kernaghan.

New Glentoran manager Gary Haveron is set for a baptism of fire tomorrow as his first game is a Premiership derby at the Oval against unbeaten Linfield. 

The former Ballymena and Coleraine player was yesterday confirmed as Glens boss on an 18-month contract. 

He got the job ahead of candidates including striker Nacho Novo who joined the east Belfast club in the summer.  

But 35-year-old Haveron says the ex-Rangers star will be a key member of his squad.
