Detectives are appealing for information following a report of three burglaries in Kilkeel.
Detective Constable Beckett said: “Sometime between 9pm on Sunday 9th April and shortly before 9:10am on Monday 10th April, it was reported that entry was gained to a property in the Meetinghouse Lane area. Damage was caused to a glass panel of the front door of the property during the incident. It is unclear if anything was taken.
“Following further enquiries, police became aware of another burglary at another business premises at the Meetinghouse Lane area. Sometime between the evening of Friday 7th April and around 5:30pm on Monday 10th April, it was reported that entry was gained to the premises and a sum of money was taken during the incident.
“Sometime between shortly before 11:10pm and shortly before 11:20pm on Sunday 9th April, it was reported that entry was gained to a premises in the Newcastle Street area. It was reported that a sum of money and a till, charity box and lock box were taken during the incident. On Monday 10th April, it was reported to police that shortly after 5:40pm the charity box, till and lock box were located at the Spelga Dam area.
“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, police are investigating a link between these incidents.
“Police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 614 10/04/23, especially anyone who saw anything suspicious at the Spelga Dam area overnight between Sunday 9th April and Monday 10th April.
