Hampden awaits the finalists

NIFL sides invited to participate for the first time

Northern Ireland champions Crusaders will host Livingston in the fourth round or the Scottish Challenge Cup.  Meanwhile, Linfield will travel to Queen of the South, with the ties to be played 8/9th October.

This is the first year that two sides from Northern Ireland have been invited to participate in the Scottish League cup.  It was agreed due to the unavailability of Windsor Park on that particular weekend, Linfield would automatically receive an away game, while the Crues would play at home.
