Linfield are now just two points behind leaders Ballymena in the Danske Bank Premiership.

That's after a 4-0 Boxing Day derby win over 10-man Glentoran at Windsor Park - striker Robbie McDaid was sent off for kicking out in the closing stages.

Jordan Stewart was one of three former Glens players to score for the Blues.

Midfielder John McGuigan has left the Oval.

It was his second spell at the club.

The former Championship player of the year with Warrenpoint Town was recently sent off during a melee in the Glens game against Crusaders.

Back to Boxing Day and Ballymena needed a last-minute equaliser from transfer-listed Johnny McMurray to snatch a 3-3 draw with Coleraine at Warden Street.

One of the Bannsiders' scorers, James McLaughlin, had been sent off early in the second half.

Crusaders beat Cliftonville 5-1 at Solitude with Paul Heatley hitting a hat-trick.

Warrenpoint's clash with Newry City ended 2-2.

Dungannon drew 1-1 with Glenavon.

And Institute beat Ards 1-0 at the Brandywell - 'Stute skipper Michael McCrudden grabbed the penalty winner.
