In Irish League transfer news, defender Jonny Addis has joined Cliftonville from Ballymena United.

And striker Johnny McMurray is on the move to Crusaders from Larne.

Jamie McGonigle could be heading in the opposite direction as a replacement.

The east Antrim side and Glentoran are said to be frontrunners to sign him. 

Rory McIlroy is three shots off the lead after the opening day of the US Open.

The County Down man is tied for 11th place following a one-under par 70 in California.

The first round of the major was hit by fog and McIlroy rushed to finish, jogging up the last before rolling in a birdie.

Russell Henley is the early pacesetter on four under.
