Woman in Newry charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

She's also charged with controlling prostitution for gain and money laundering.

She was held in the Tandragee Road area of Newry early on Saturday morning by officers from the PSNI's Modern Slavery Unit.

It's part of an investigation into a criminal gang it's thought could be operating here in Northern Ireland.

She's due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday 5th February.
