'Well loved' woman (94) dies in Jonesborough house fire

There's a sense of shock and sadness in Jonesborough following the death of a 94-year-old woman in a house fire.

The blaze broke out around 7.30pm at Bay View.

Emergency Services attended the scene, but the woman was found dead. 

It's believed a small fire broke out in the kitchen of the semi-detached house. The fire had been partially put out by neighbours and on arrival firefighters fully extinguished the fire.

A 50-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by firefighters. 

An investigation into the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious, has begun.
