This year's Ulster Grand Prix motorcyling race has been cancelled just weeks after it was announced it would return in August for its centenary year.
The organisers say that, despite endorsement from Stormont's Department of Finance and the Department for the Economy, Tourism NI has been unable to support the level of funding agreed.
Today Tourism NI released a statement saying the requested figure of £800,000 to support both the event and the N W200 - was six times higher than the amount requested in 2019.
The road race was to take place from August 16-20 after a two-year absence due to Covid-19 and financial issues.
