Detectives believe the same man was behind two so-called creeper style burglaries in East Belfast overnight.

The first incident happened at around 3.30am on the Green Road.

The suspect broke into a house there and stole keys for a car parked in the driveway.

However, the homeowner disturbed the man before he could take the vehicle and he made off on foot.

Meanwhile, the second incident happened around an hour later, only a short distance away in Thornely Park.

The same person broke into a house and stole keys to a red Volkswagen Golf, which he then drove off in.

It's yet to recovered.

Police have described the man as being around 5’10” tall with fair hair and was wearing a yellow shirt, dark jacket and blue jogging bottoms.

Anyone who noticed a man matching this description or who has any information which could assist PSNI with our enquiries to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 105 13/09/18.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous.
