Three people rescued after fishing boat breaks down near Portrush

Three people on board a fishing boat have been rescued after its engine lost power 2 kilometres North West of Portrush.

RNLI crews were launched at around 9.30 last night and towed the vessel to Ballycastle harbour.

The rescue mission took roughly 5 hours, and crews arrived back to Portrush just before 3am.

Crew members included Des Austin Cox, Chris Dobbin, Andy McClelland, Tim Nelson, Gary McLaughlin, Johnny Weston, and Debs Smyth.
