Sleep-out event takes place in Belfast to raise awareness of young people experiencing homelessness

Around 100 people in Belfast slept outside last night to raise awareness of young people experiencing homelessness.

The event was hosted by local charity MACS NI which supports children and young people who in it's words, "haven't had a fair deal" in life.

North Belfast MLA Nicola Mallon was among those who attended the sleep-out.

She's told Q Radio the issue is on the rise and falling under the radar:

Country music star Lee Mathews also attended the event. He's told Q Radio  more needs to be done to highlight the issue:
