One further Covid-19 death and under 100 new cases in NI

One further coronavirus related death has been recorded in Northern Ireland.

It brings the Department of Health's death toll to 2,150. 

82 people have also tested positive for the virus here since yesterday - out of 1,218 individuals tested. 

32 people in local hospitals currently have covid - two of whom are in intensive care units. 

Meanwhile,

It has been reported today that there's been a slight increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Northern Ireland linked to the Indian variant of the virus.

The spike in cases is believed to be related to travel as opposed to community transmission. 

It comes as a total of 1,556,832 vaccines have been administered in Northern Ireland so far. 

Of those, 995,905 are first doses while 552,431 account for second doses. 

A total of 6,600 people received a coronavirus jab here yesterday.
