No further covid-19 deaths and 113 positive cases recorded in NI

There have been no further coronavirus related deaths recorded in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours, according to the Department of Health. 

The department's death toll therefore remains at 2,148. 

However, 113 new cases of covid-19 have been confirmed in Northern Ireland since yesterday from 2,082 tests. 

There are currently 50 people being treated with covid-19 in hospitals across Northern Ireland. 

Four patients are being treated in intensive care units, all of whom are on ventilators. 

To date, a total of 1,501,023 vaccines have been administered in the region. 

Meanwhile, the average 7 day infection rate per 100,000 is 34.2.

The area with the highest rate of infection is Derry City and Strabane district on 92.3 per 100k. 

Meanwhile, Ards and North Down remains the lowest recording 6.2.
