Poet John Montague has died aged 87.
Born in New York, he moved to Garvaghey in County Tyrone as a four-year-old.
Also having lived in the Republic of Ireland, he moved to France in recent years, and became a chevalier of the Legion D'Honneur.
Irish President Michael D Higgins paid tribute to his work, describing it as "immense."
His work "The Rough Field" focuses on Northern Ireland, one of a number of works of poetry and prose.
