Baby boy killed in Ardoyne tragedy was Liam O'Keefe

Tributes were left outside the family home in Ardoyne

The baby boy who was killed in north Belfast on Tuesday has been named as Liam O'Keefe.

The 29-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with his death and the serious injuries inflicted on his sister, who remains in hospital in a stable condition, has been released from hospital and transferred to police custody for questioning.

Another young child injured in the same incident remains n a stable condition in hospital.

It is understood the children’s father was in England when the attack happened and he has travelled back to Northern Ireland.
 

Detective Chief Inspector Millar said: “The other young child injured during this incident remains in hospital where her condition is described as stable.

“I would like to thank the local community for their unwavering support and patience while we continue our investigation into the tragic events of Tuesday evening and I continue to ask that anyone who has any information to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1787 of 27/07/21.”
