A woman and her son have been left shaken after shots were fired at their County Armagh home.

It happened at around 11 last night in the Clockhoge area of Cullyhanna village.

The woman's daughter has spoken to Q Radio.

She went on to say it could have ended so much differently.

They escaped unharmed, and an investigation is underway.

In a statement the PSNI said: "At approximately 11.00pm shots were fired at the house, breaking windows in the living room/kitchen area and sitting room. A woman and her son were in the property at the time. They were not injured as a result of the shooting.

"Detective Sergeant Bell would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who has information that would assist with police enquiries to contact Detectives at Ardmore on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1560 21/02/18.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
