Man dies following Co. Down crash

A man has died following a crash in Conlig, near Bangor in Co. Down last month. 

The victim, 40-year-old Kenny Wharton who was orginally from the Bangor area, passed away yesterday. 

The two vehicle collision happened on the Green Road at the junction of Rowanvale and Six Road Ends at around 7.30pm on Sunday 24th May.

Police say a grey Vauxhall Insignia and a silver coloured Vauxhall Zafira were involved in the incident. 

Inspector Moore said, "One man was taken to hospital for his injuries, but sadly lost his life on Thursday 4th June.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident. We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who captured the collision on their dash-cam, to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1449 24/05/20.”
