A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with a bomb hoax at the local PSNI Station in Strand Road.
Emmet Gillen (38) of Clon Elagh in Derry was charged with communicating to the police that there was a bomb at the Strand Road Station knowing that information to be false on January 11.
He was also charged with using the public communications network to send a message of a menacing nature on the same date.
A police officer connected Gillen to the charges.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that subject to the court bail had been agreed.
Deputy District Judge Sean O'Hare released Gillen on his own bail of £500, imposed a curfew from 9pm until 7am and imposed a no drugs or drink condition.
The judge warned the defendant any breach of these conditions would lead to him going into custody.
The case was adjourned until February 10.
