Fatal Lisburn crash may have taken place over 24 hours before being reported

A fatal crash in Lisburn may have taken place over 24 hours before it was first reported. 

Police recieved a call in relation to the crash on the Old Ballynahinch Road at around lunchtime on Wednesday. 

However, following further enquiries they now believe it may have taken place before 7am on Tuesday morning. 

They're continuing to appeal for information, specifically surrounding a blue Mazda 3 car. 

Sergeant Jonny MacKenzie said: “The collision was reported to police at around 12:20pm on Wednesday 4th September.

"However, following further enquiries, we believe the incident may have occurred just before 7am on Tuesday 3rd September.

 “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Old Ballynahinch Road area between 6:45am and 7am on Tuesday 3rd September and who may have seen this blue Mazda 3 car or anyone who has dash-cam footage which could assist us with our enquiries to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 734 04/09/19.”
