"Disturbing news" as 41-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man outside Derry/Londonderry.

He died at a house in Newbuildings on Monday. 

Police said on Monday night a 41-year-old suspect remained in custody. 

Deputy Mayor of the district, Alderman Graham Warke, lives in the area.

He told Q Radio it's "disturbing news" and the tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local community:

He's urging anyone with information to come forward:

Police confirmed the PSNI's Major Investigation Team has launched a murder investigation.

A spokesperson said there were "no further details at this stage."

DUP Foyle Assembly member Gary Middleton tweeted: "Very disturbing news which has come as a huge shock to the local community.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the families at this sad time."
