County Tyrone man left "gutted" after family business targeted a third time

Hempton's Bar in Newtonstewart, County Tyrone was ransacked and burgaled in the early hours of this morning. 

This is the third time the pub has been targeted since December of last year. 

Aaron Hempton, son of the business owner, has been telling Q Radio what happened:

Mr Hempton says his family are devastated this has happened again and that it's knocked the business back: 


West Tyrone MLA, Daniel McCrossan has condemned the attack on the family business: 


A PSNI spokesperson said: 

"Police are investigating the report of a burglary at licensed premises at Main Street, Newtownstewart, on Tuesday 8th May. 

"It is believed that entry was gained to the premises sometime between 1am and 7am on Tuesday morning and a sum of money taken.

"Officers would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or who has any information about this incident to contact them in Strabane on 101 quoting reference number 255 08/05/18. 

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
