Child abuse victims are "collateral damage" of failed politics

Victims of Institutional Child Abuse claim they are the collateral damage of political failure in Northern Ireland.

Today marks six months since the publication of the findings of the Historic Institutional Abuse inquiry.

But with no devolved government ministers survivors say the recommendations of Inquiry Chairman Sir Anthony Hart have gathered dust at Stormont.

Today a letter from survivors will be hand delivered to MLA's and the Secretary of State at Stormont.

Sokeswoman Margaret McGuckian says some members of the Survivors and Victims of Institutional Abuse group are in failing health or have passed away.
