A candlelit vigil is being held in Belfast.

It's being organised for the people of Aleppo.

Hundreds of Syrian civilians were evacuated from the beseiged city again last night.

An event is being held at Belfast's City Hall at 17.30 on Monday evening.

It's in solidarity with those suffering and to commemorate the lives that have been lost.

It has been organised by People Before Profit.

In a post online, a party spokesperson said: "Aleppo was once a symbol of democratic resistance to the Assad dictatorship in Syria. People rose up as part of the Arab Spring to try to win their freedom. Today it is being buried in rubble and blood.

"Join us on Monday as we raise our voices against what is happening in Aleppo and stand in solidarity with the people there who are facing brutal murder and with the refugees fleeing the destruction and brutality. "
