A vehicle has crashed into a bridge on Belfast's Malone Road resulting in traffic chaos for commuters this evening.

The collision between Balmoral Avenue and the House of Sport is blocking one lane and causing long delays for motorists leaving the city.

Rail services have also been impacted with the Bangor to Portadown route terminating at Great Victoria Street.

Translink says the Balmoral line has since reopened but commuters should expect delays.

Police say the collision at the Kings Hall was reported around 4.30pm this afternoon.

"The driver was treated at the scene for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time."
