75 new cases of coronavirus and no further deaths recorded in NI

There have been no further coronavirus related deaths recorded in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours, according to the Department of Health. 

The department's death toll therefore remains at 2,152. 

However, 75 positive cases of covid-19 have been confirmed since yesterday from 2,126 tests. 

The department of health's dashboard also shows to date 1,646,207 vaccines have been administered in Northern Ireland in total. 

There are currently 29 people being treated in hospitals across Northern Ireland with coronavirus. 

Two patients are being treated in intensive care units, one of whom is on a ventilator. 

Meanwhile, the average 7 day infection rate per 100,000 in the region is 31.0. 

The area with the highest rate of infection is Derry City and Strabane with an infection rate of 69.7 per 100k, while the infection rate is the lowest in Ards and North Down which recorded 5.0.
