A 52-year-old man on the run from Maghaberry Prison has been arrested in Belfast.

He was detained at an address in the north of the city at around 5 this morning, having been missing since the 9th of November.

James Valliday is a remand prisoner, and a 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police are appealing for a second remand inmate to hand himself in- 45-year-old Charles Valliday.

He's described as five foot nine in height, stocky, with short brown hair, protruding ears and green eyes.

The public's urged not to approach him as he has a history of violence.

Both men failed to comply with the conditions of compassionate bail given at court to attend a relative’s funeral on 9 November .
