Suspected heroin, with an estimated street value of around £1,200 has been seized in Belfast.

It comes after a search operation was carried out by the PSNI and a dog handler in the city, at around 00.50am yesterday morning.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including importing a controlled drug and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

A spokesperson for the PSNI says, "The males are believed to be members of an organised crime gang who are involved in the supply of heroin in Belfast and both remain in Police custody."
