10 more covid-19 related deaths in NI and 303 new cases

10 more people have died in Northern Ireland after contracting coronavirus. 

The latest figures bring the death toll recorded by the Department of Health to 1,985. 

303 positive cases of the virus have been confirmed since yesterday, bringing the total number of positive coronavirus cases in NI since the start of the pandemic to 108, 737. 

There are currently 470 covid-19 inpatients in local hospitals. 

59 patients are being treated in intensive care units, 52 of whom are on ventilators. 

Meanwhile, the average 7 day infection rate per 100,000 for Northern Ireland is 120.7; the lowest recorded since October 1st. 

The local council area with the highest rate of infection remains Mid Ulster on 225.1, while Fermanagh and Omagh remains the lowest with 47.1.
